Day 1 – Poolside Cookout & Overnight at SECC (Optional)

Clergy Day is going poolside! Fire up the grill with Bishop Thompson and Canon Duckworth at the Solomon Center pool. Bring your favorite item to cook out, and EDOLA will provide sides, water, and soda. Wear your Hawaiian shirts and break out your guitars as we relax and enjoy some much-needed time together.

Cost: $100 single occupancy includes breakfast on August 25.

Day 2 – Clergy Day

Jump-start your preparation for the season of Advent with Amy-Jill Levine, Ph.D. Her book, The Light of the World, forms the core of our session, and is an excellent guide for small group discussions. Dr. Levine will delve into how Jews and Christians read scripture differently, exploring interpretations of Isaiah 7:14.

Note: Clergy will receive an advance copy of The Light of the World, distributed through their deanery.

Dr. Levine is the Rabbi Stanley M. Kessler Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace, and University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies Emerita at Vanderbilt University.
