What is Happening?
Happening is a youth-led spiritual formation weekend designed for high school teens in grades 9-12. Happening is open to teenagers of any denomination who have not participated in Happening in the past. You do not need to attend an Episcopal church or school to attend. Happening is a Christian retreat that is open and welcoming to all.
The purpose of the Happening program is to be one of the instruments within the Anglican Tradition to renew the Christian Church in the power of the Holy Spirit, in order that the Church may respond more readily to its call to spread the Kingdom of God throughout the world.
Happening seek to achieve this purpose by bringing young persons and adults to a fuller personal knowledge of and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and to a deeper level of commitment and apostleship.
Who can attend Happening?
Happening is open to 9th through 12th-grade teenagers of any denomination who have not participated in Happening in the past. You need not be Episcopalian to attend, however, you must be committed to engaging in theological reflection from a Christian perspective.
How Much Does Happening Cost?
Rooms, lodging, and materials for the weekend cost $150 for participants and staff. Children of clergy may attend for free (with registration). Finances should not be a barrier for any student to attend Happening. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for scholarship assistance.
