The Rev. David P. Casey, O.P. has been called to be the Priest-in-Charge of the Free Church of the Annunciation and of Mount Olivet Episcopal Church in New Orleans. His previous call was as Chaplain Missioner for Campus & Young Adult Ministry in Fredericksburg, VA, a joint ministry sponsored by two Episcopal parishes, one Lutheran congregation, and the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. In this position, Fr. David served as Chaplain for the Episcopal-Lutheran Campus Ministry at University of Mary Washington and planted a campus ministry at Germanna Community College. His work with young adults centered on pastoral care, formation, and community engagement. Fr. David also worked with organizations led by young adults to address issues such as climate change, relations with law enforcement, and anti-racism. He served as an officer for the Diocese of Virginia’s Ministry for Racial Justice & Healing and as a member of a multicultural coalition of clergy working for social change. Fr. David is a graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary and was ordained as an Episcopal priest in June 2018. He is also a life-professed member in the Anglican Dominicans (Order of Preachers), a dispersed religious order in The Episcopal Church devoted to teaching, preaching, daily prayer, and community. David enjoys riding his motorcycle, spending time at the gym, and learning new ways to cook. He and his spouse, Jeff, often enjoy their time off taking road trips.
