To my brothers and sisters in the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana,

I pray that this message finds you well. Hurricane Zeta brought devastating winds to our diocese particularly in the Greater New Orleans area. I am grateful we were spared from rising waters but the winds caused major damage to the electrical infrastructure.

There are countless brothers and sisters who are still without power. As more and more people live paycheck to paycheck, the food they will lose will need to be replaced. If you would like to donate to these efforts, please give through our Online Portal or send a check to the diocesan office Memo Hurricane Zeta. Supporting the needs of our neighbors through monetary donations ensures our ability to respond effectively.

I ask that you continue to pray for the safety and strength of those affected at this time. We are a people of hope and we must never forget that.

Holy Lord, you are our comfort and strength
in times of sudden disaster, crisis, or chaos.
Surround us now with your grace and peace
through storm or earthquake, fire or flood.

By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen,
sustain those who work to rescue or rebuild,
and fill us with the hope of your new creation;
through you, our rock and redeemer.

Prayerfully,

The Rt. Rev. Morris K. Thompson, Jr.
Bishop of Louisiana
