A new, non-profit organization in St. Tammany Parish has opened a day center and partnered with numerous churches to provide homeless families nutritious meals and a warm, safe place to sleep. Family Promise of St. Tammany will host its first families starting May 3, the organization said.
Through its day center in Slidell and network of churches and volunteers, the group has a vision in which “every family has a home, a livelihood and the chance to build a better future together.” [..]
