Using the lectures and writings of Father Greg Boyle, founder and director of Homeboy Industries, a Los Angeles-based gang rehabilitation and re-entry program, participants will deepen their understanding of what it means to serve “the least of these” in the Spirit of Christ.
Five online Zoom gatherings will precede and build up to a day-long gathering of learning, prayer, discussion and fellowship.
Diocesan Beloved Community Missioner, Tamika Gerhardt, will lead the initial online session and the day-long in-person gathering. Louisiana deacons will lead the other online sessions.
Who should attend:
- Deacons and those in discernment or postulancy towards the diaconate, and those interested in what it means to be a deacon
- Anyone—lay and clergy–who wants to deepen their life in Christ through the path of service.
