“The Deacon in the Liturgy” Seminar
“The Deacon in the Liturgy” will be the topic of a one-day seminar on Wednesday, November 12, from 9am to 3 pm at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center (SECC) in Robert, LA. The event is free, open to all, and will include lunch.
The seminar will feature Bishop Shannon Duckworth’s reflections on adapting the liturgy to the architecture and local customs of the many different churches she visits during the course of her year. Deacon Cindy Obier, the Bishop’s Chaplain, will co-present.
The seminar will also include a class by The Rev. John Pitzer of Trinity New Orleans on The Basics of Preaching and Tips for a Great Sermon. Archdeacon Charles deGravelles will review the liturgical customary for deacons in the Diocese of Louisiana.
