If Teresa Day Boatner’s life were a garment, it would have started in California fashion design, be bound in a bodice of flowing gowns and finally hemmed in a classroom in Zachary where she has chosen to stitch her passion and watch new patterns come to life.

Sewing with Teresa Boatner is a series of sewing lessons designed to teach the art of dressmaking and other skills while also providing an outreach opportunity to women in the Zachary area.

Boatner’s first class met Jan. 26 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church. There were 13 students in the initial group, but as word spread about the class, more students have made plans to attend.
