The Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Louisiana are pleased to invite you to their 134th Annual Gathering, June 18-19, 2021, hosted at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1329 Jackson Ave., in the beautiful Garden District of New Orleans.
The ECW celebrates “A New Day.” Therefore, if a person is in Christ…the old has passed away; behold the new has come.” (II Cor. 5:17.) During our long hibernation with COVID-19, the ECW learned new methods to “do church”, in worship via internet links, Zoom Bible studies, and even virtual fundraising. This reshaping of old ways caused us to grow and strengthen our identity for mission and ministry in the world.
Our 2021 Annual Gathering begins Friday, June 18, with registration at 4 p.m. and a mission focus. On Saturday, June 19, we will center on our ministry and the celebration of our Festival Eucharist which includes a banner processional and music from Trinity’s glorious pipe organ. Bishop Morris Thompson will be with us to officiate at the Eucharist and install new officers.
We are pleased to welcome keynote speaker, the Rev. Sandy Casey-Martus, Assistant Dean to the Cathedral in Easton, Maryland. Mother Casey-Martus is a published author, teacher, preacher and leader of contemplative prayer. She is also mother of Ashley Bond, a Christian Education teacher at Trinity.
The Annual Gathering gives us a time of fellowship, learning and sharing among our sisters in Christ. The Gathering offers good food, worship, fun, and friendship. Come and celebrate a wonderful New Day!
