The Louisiana Interchurch Conference
(LIC) is the one statewide ecumenical cooperative of the churches in
Louisiana. It is a sign and symbol of unity in Christ by its commitment
to working together through study, worship, witness, and Christian love.
In 1992, the Rev. C. Dana (Dan) Krutz, an Episcopal priest, became the
executive director for the LIC which is headquartered in Baton Rouge.
The diocese's ecumenical work is carried out by the Ecumenical
Commission composed of lay and clergy members appointed by the bishop. The Rev. Susan Gaumer of St. Andrew's Church,
New Orleans, is the diocesan ecumenical officer. She coordinates the
diocese's ecumenical work and participates in the national church's
network of ecumenical officers. |
